7 Bottles on the Wall

For his noon feeding, Colin was able to suck down a whole bottle without gavage. His meals are alternating between gavage and bottle feeding. He just needs to finish 7 more bottles/day on his own so he can come home. His weight is remaining steady at 3lbs 12.7 oz. since he is adapting to life out of the controlled environment of the isolet.

Babies have a tendency to keep their hands near their mouths so they can put anything and everything in there. His parents have a long way go before the entire house is fully-babyproof.

Dad does the dubious but much appreciated job of changing his daipers.

This is the first time that Lola (Grandma) is allowed to hold him since the restrictions are off. Gradmother Kathy gets her chance when she is in town.

His eyelids may look a little shiny because of the application of topical antibiotic ointment for his staph infection that he probably had since birth. His eyes keep on draining and gunk (moreso than normal) started accumulating. This is pretty common for newborns. A couple of the other babies in the ward need treatment too.

Now Colin is happy and ready for some R&R!
