Babies have a tendency to keep their hands near their mouths so they can put anything and everything in there. His parents have a long way go before the entire house is fully-babyproof.

His eyelids may look a little shiny because of the application of topical antibiotic ointment for his staph infection that he probably had since birth. His eyes keep on draining and gunk (moreso than normal) started accumulating. This is pretty common for newborns. A couple of the other babies in the ward need treatment too.
